Pack your sunglasses – “plenty of sunshine” is predicted for Artic Monkeys’ Middlesbrough gig.
It may not be sizzling hot but temperatures are expected to peak at 16 degrees, according to BBC Weather, with a 0% chance of rain all day and up to 10mph winds across all of Monday. However, the BBC is predicting “plenty of sunshine” in the afternoon, which is sure to be welcome news for fans attending the gig.
Those entering the fan villages when doors open at 2.30pm can expect to bask in the sun, with images taken on Saturday showing preparations are already underway to welcome thousands to the pop-up fan zones.
When the Arctic Monkeys take to the stage at 8.50pm, the temperature will have cooled off slightly, down to about 12 degrees, and those familiar with the Riverside Stadium will know it can get chilly without the sun. Gig-goers may want to consider bringing a jumper to throw on later into the evening.
A statement on the BBC Weather page states: “Low cloud will hold out for many areas tomorrow morning, but should burn back further eastwards during the day to give a largely settled day, with plenty of sunshine in the afternoon.”
For those planning for a late night, the forecast remains cloudy and dry during the early hours of Tuesday morning and into the rest of the day. Tuesday will similarly have 0% chance of rain throughout the day.
